Saturday was a hectic weekend for me. I went for the NUS, NTU and SMU openhouse. Got a rough idea on the different courses that each is offering and the distinctive features of each courses. Of course, with the individual schools promoting themselves fiercely, i really had a difficult time thinking the ideal university for me to pursue my business course.
Before going, i actually was keen on NUS.First, it being a prestigous and the most well known uni in Singapore. But wehn i went over to NTU (my first stop), i had a shock. NTU's business is ranked third in Asia, losing to two schools in HongKong.Yet, my desired sch, NUS is 14th(if i remember correctly). The Dean of NTU even made this comment "SMU is not even in the top120 list.." Murmurs across the lecture hall as students started their respective comments on the rankings. With the red big bag heavily loaded with brochures and goodies, i made my move to NUS. I confronted the students there. One of which happened to my cousin's friend. I asked him regarding the ranking and the quality of the business course offered there. The guy replied " stroke of luck that NTU won NUS". i was speechless.
Again with an Orange-Blue bag, i draged my tired feet to the most familiar building. SMU which is super duper near my workplace. We had difficulty finding our way since we dun really noe where the exhibitions and talks are held at. One of the business student there spoke with an American accent and of course with confidence abt the unique teaching style it offered in comparison to the above 2 uni. Actually,i am amazed at the confidence the person displays as he explains. I enquired abt the sensitive issue. Course fee. $7500 first year. Subsequently $8300 . Wow .
Went to Bugis for my first meal of the day, breakfast-cum-lunch-dinner at Pasta Mania. Finally met two of my classmates, Henry and jerome at Bugis. Scouted Bugis Junction and village for a pair of white sneakers. But to no avail. Accompanied the both of them at KFC and we had fun talking abt a lot of funny stuffs then we went arnd in search for Jerome's white sneakers. Got real tired and bored after a while. Then an idea came to my brain. NEOPRINTS.
It was reaching ten when we hurried there to take shots. These two guys seem uncomfortable.Haha.But too bad, i pulled them in and made sure they take the prints. Just when the posts that we though of suddenly was used up and that we have no idea wad to post in front of the camera when a little boy (around k2 i guess) came in and said he wants to take shots. We happily and more than willing asked him to take shots with us. He is so cute. He happily pose for the camera.Sweet. Haha.Shall post the photos once i got it scanned. The little boy is so cute.
The two guys were gentlemen enough to walk me home despite how lethargic they are. Haha. Jerome helped carry the two goody bags for me. Thanks so much. =) It was really nice of them. I really had fun with the two of them. Fun stuffs we did just by chilling out. cant wait to meet them up soon again to chill it out once more. Lol.Oops. before i forgot, thanks alvin for accompanying me to openhouse. =)
